Via Comic Natalie: Aya Kanno’s manga “Requiem of the Rose King” has entered its final stage, just as its TV anime adaptation starts airing in two consecutive cours starting January 2022. In addition, a stage play adaptation has also been announced, and is slated to open in June 2022.

“Requiem of the Rose King” is a dark fantasy based on Shakespeare’s historical plays “Henry VI” and “Richard III”, and is a fictionalised retelling of the “War of the Roses” — a period in English history where the succession to the throne was contested by the House of York (represented by the white rose) and House of Lancaster (represented by the red rose).
