GUNDAM 35 A portal site was recently opened to commemorate the 35th Anniversary of Mobile Suit Gundam with the tagline “Rise! The world is moving”.

As part of the Gundam 35th Anniversary Project, seven commemorative projects were featured, including three upcoming Gundam titles.

Next up is the Gundam creator Yoshiyuki Tomino’s latest work. After a hiatus of 8 years, he will make his return in the next Gundam title, Gundam: Reconguista in G. With a visual style similar to Turn A Gundam and character art similar to Eureka Seven. It is set in Reguild Century, an era after the Universal Century. It follows the adventures of pilot cadet Beruri Zenam of  Capital Guard, who are protecting a space elevator.

The last is original video animation (OVA) Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin I: The Blue-Eyed Casval. This OVA series is the animated version of the hit manga series Mobile Suit Gundam: The Origin.

The first episode will tell the story of Casval Rem Deikun and Artesia Som Deikun, more popularly known as Char Aznable and Sayla Mass, during the fall of the Republic of Zeon due to the sudden death of leader Zeon Deikun. The first of the 4 episode OVA covering the Char/Sayla Chapter will debut in theaters in Spring 2015.
