After press conferences from Microsoft, Electronic Arts and Ubisoft, Sony takes the stage at the end of the night to round off the first day of Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2014! The event took place at 9am GM+8. Here are the highlights from the PlayStation presser!

Kicking off the event is a new trailer of Activision’s Destiny! The game will be bundled with the PS3 and PS4 on release day and the PS4 bundle will also be available in the newly unveiled Glacier White color. The game will also have exclusive content only available on Playstation platforms. And that’s not all, PS4 players will have exclusive access to a Destiny ‘alpha’ starting this Thursday at this link. The beta will be also be available first to Playstation owners when it launches on 17 July 2014.

[hr]The first Playstation 4 exclusive shown at the event was The Order 1886. We got another look of the game and a short gameplay section was shown at the event.

An entirely new IP from the Sony internal studios, is Entwined! It is a unique original tunnel flying game that was unveiled at the event. As a surprise, Sony has revealed that the game is available now!
Release date: Available now for PS4, coming soon to PS3 and PS Vita

[hr]A standalone DLC title based off the recently released PS4 title InFAMOUS Second Son, InFAMOUS First Light stars Fetch Walker as she unravels the dark secrets of her pasts. You do not need the original InFAMOUS Second Son disc to play the game but you will get in-game content if you do have the disc.
Release date: August 2014

[hr]The second surprise of the night was unveiled as LittleBigPlanet 3 was shown for the first time. Sackboy now has new companions to join him in his fun quests. As an added bonus, all older LBP and LBP2 created stages will be playable in LBP3.

Another new exclusive PS4 title was unveiled titled Bloodborne and it is being developed by none other than longtime PlayStation developer From Software. Taking obvious visual cues from PS3 title Demon’s Souls, it is directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki of Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls fame.

There was a sneak peek of the multiplayer mode of Far Cry 4 at the event as well. As a bonus, Playstation owners can invite friends into their game and join them in multiplayer action even if the friend does not have a copy of the game.

Paradox Interactive has unveiled that the sequel to their hit game Magicka, Magicka 2 will be released as a PS4 console exclusive title! No release date has been given however.

Yet another surprise was unveiled as Tim Schafer’s classic Grim Fandango will be remastered as a joint collaboration between Sony and Double Fine. The game will be released first on Playstation 4 and Playstation Vita. No release date is mentioned at the time of writing.

Suda 51 also has a new PS4 title to show, Let It Die. It looks like the usual over the top monster slaying action title Suda 51 normally produces with a very realistic feel to it.

Another new indie title is Abzu by Giant Squid. It is an underwater exploration game inspired from old Mesopotamian mythology where you discover and uncover hidden secrets.

The last new big indie title shown at E3 was Hello GamesNo Man’s Sky, a procedurally generation space exploration game. Everything in the game is created by the game’s engine and no two players start from the same planet. I was really in awe watching this trailer! No release date has been given.

The PlayStation Now service was properly unveiled at this event as well. It will be launching in America on 31 July 2014 with 100 PS3 titles available for rent on the PS4. The service will expand to the PS3, Vita and select Sony TVs in the near future. Some of the titles featured are Dead Space 3God of War: AscensionMetal Gear Solid: Ground ZeroesRatchet and Clank: Into the Nexus and Ultra Street Fighter 4

An old friend of the PlayStation family is getting an animated movie in the coming year as Ratchet and Clank are set to have their first game turned into a movie! At the same time, it was announced that Insomniac Games are going to bring the first game in a “re-imagined” form on the Playstation 4 sometime in the future.

[hr]A new trailer for The Last of Us Remastered was shown as well. At the same time, it was announced that Infected from The Last of Us will be appearing in the Playstation port of Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls!

The newest trailer for Kojima Production’s Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain was first shown (although inevitably leaked a day earlier) at the Sony presscon. It’s a short 5 minutes trailer showing more of Big Boss’ despair.

Another great news fans wanted to hear is that Grand Theft Auto 5 is being re-released on the Playstation 4 (as well as Xbox One and PC) later in the year. The game will have updated graphical quality to suit the newer consoles specifications and your save data of your Online progression can be transferred to the newer game.

And finally we get to see our very first proper trailer of Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Nathan Drake will be returning as the main character! It looks really fantastic and I can’t wait to see more of the game.

And that wraps up the Sony’s PlayStation E3 Press Conference. I really like the new original content that will be coming in the next few month to next few year and I’m definitely excited to get my hands on a majority of these titles! Aside from the short 20 minutes non-gaming section, I think Sony definitely did a great job at this year’s E3.
