[PITCH] New casts revealed for Terra Formars

The upcoming fall anime, Terra Formars, has revealed its latest addition to the cast lineup. Kouji Yusa, popular for portraying roles as Akira Midosuji in Yowamushi Pedal and Ryoya Hyuga in Uta no Prince sama, is slated to appear as Adolf Reinhardt, a member of the Annex I expedition team. Joining him is veteran seiyuu, Akira Ishida (Mikage in Kami-sama Hajimemashita),  who will play Joseph Gustav Newton, the leader of the Roma squad. Rounding up the members for Annex I expedition are Unshou Ishizuki ( Jet Black in Cowboy Bebop )  playing Sylvester Asimov,Testuo Komura  ( Captain Jurgens in Eureka Seven ) as Liu Yi Wu, Kenji Akabane (Akira Souma in Meganebu!)  as IvanPerepelkina, Romi Park (Edward Eldric in Full metal Alchemist) as Elena Perepelkina, and Ayane Sakura (Arisa Ayase in Love Live! School Idol Project) as Eva Frost. Toshiyuki Morikawa (Toshizou Hijikata in Bakumatsu Rock ) will portray Ichiro Hiruma’s younger brother, Shichisei Hiruma.

Written by Yuu Sasuga and illustrated by Kenichi Tachibana, Terra Formars has been serialised in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump comics since 2011. The story is set in the distant future where mankind had sent roaches (Yes, you read it correctly! roaches!) to Mars to help mould and make Mars habitable. Many years have passed, mankind sent an expedition to check on Mars, the expedition team never made it back to Earth. They were attack by giant humanoid roaches, known as “Terraformars”. A second expedition was sent to infiltrate and kill the bugs but was unsuccessful. Two survivors from the second expedition managed to get back to earth to tell the tale. Earth is now launching a third expedition, composed of genetically modified soldiers. Will they finally be able to pull the final trigger and stop the menace or is there a far greater truth hidden beneath all of this.

Apart from the anime, a 2-part OVA prelude entitled,”Terra Formars: Bugs2, was created . It covers volume 1 of the manga. The OVA, will be bundled with the release of the manga’s 10th and 11th Volume. The first part was already released on August 20 2014, while the second part is scheduled for a release in November.

The anime is set to air on September 26 2014. Terraspex will perform both the opening theme, “Amazing Break” and ending theme, “Lightning”.
