From the animation studio which brought us Kill la Kill comes one of 2015’s most highly anticipated anime series, Ninja Slayer, and this cyberpunk ninja series finally gets a release date, which will be on 16 April 2015.
The anime’s official website also released two new key visual images which will surely whet the appetites of many fans.
It has also been revealed that Ninja Slayer will be streamed in over 30 countries, including Japan. People in the United States, Canada, Latin and South America, Europe, and South Korea will be able to watch the anime, however, no details on how the anime will be shown in these have been mentioned so far. No release for South East Asian countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines have been announced.
Ninja Slayer is based on the light novel series supposedly written by Americans Bradley Bond and Philip [email protected] Morzez. It follows average salary man-turned-vengeful ninja assassin, Kenji Fujikido, who gets possessed by a mysterious ninja spirit. Fujikido’s family was killed in the crossfires of a ninja turf war in the city of Neo Saitama, and as he gets possessed, he turns into Ninja Slayer to exact some vengeance.
The anime will be written and directed by Akira Amemiya who has served as the assistant director for Kill la Kill and also worked as the art director and did some key animations for Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. And knowing Trigger’s penchant for going over-the-top, expect this one to be as wild as Kill la Kill and Gurren Lagann.
