[ANIME] Rie Kugimiya joins Blood Blockade Battlefront as an anime-original character

A leaked magazine scan from Jump Square Magazine has revealed that “The Queen of Tsundere” herself, Rie Kugimiya, will be joining the voice cast of the upcoming fantasy-action anime series, Blood Blockade Battlefront or Kekkai Sensen

Queen TsundeRie will be voicing a girl named White, and she will be an original character not found in the original source manga. White will be appearing in a few of the visions that series main character, Leonard Watch, will be experiencing. Kugimiya is known for her tsundere roles known as “the four queens of tsundere”, Shana (Shakugan no Shana), Nagi Sanzenin (Hayate the Combat Butler!), Louise Valliere (The Familiar of Zero), and Taiga Aisaka (Toradora!). She is also known for voicing other characters like Happy from Fairy tail and Alphonse Elric from Full Metal Alchemist.

The Jump Square magazine scan also announced that the anime’s OP will be titled “Hello World!” and it will be performed by BUMP OF CHICKEN.

Blood Blockade Battlefront is based on the manga by Trigun creator Yasuhiro Nightow and will follow the adventures of the peace-keeping group known as Libra who must prevent monsters from escaping the “paranormal melting pot” known as Jerusalem’s Lot.
