With Naruto’s historic 15-year run now over, there are still some Naruto fans who are hungry for a little more, and it looks like they will be getting their wish granted with the new spin-off manga mini-series to be launched this 27 April.

New images from this spin-off manga, illustrated by Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto himself, have finally been revealed, and it features Naruto as the new Hokage as well as his (and Hinata’s) son, Boruto, with Sasuke and Sakura’s daughter, Sarada (or Salada).

Titled Naruto Gaiden: Nanadaime Hokage to Akairo no Hanatsuzuki, this new mini-series will make its debut in the pages of the combined 22nd and 23rd volumes of Shueisha’s Weekly Shounen Jump! magazine, that will be released on 27 April. The magazine itself had been teasing that “the story enters the new generation”.

Well, Boruto and Sarada may still be kids and have only been featured in the final chapter in the manga so far, but they have gotten legions of fans already who are already worshipping the two of them. Ahhh, young love! Well, don’t worry Burrito Salad fans, because Boruto will also be getting his own movie, and hopefully, Sarada will be in tow. The movie is scheduled to premiere this August 2015 and is tentatively titled Boruto -Naruto the Movie-. Looks like The Last: Naruto the Movie ain’t the last one after all!

Kishimoto himself has admitted that even though he has finished the main manga series, he still has a lot of work to do with the franchise he created.

Well, what do you think of this new mini-series?
