One of the world’s largest showing of the iconic Gundam sensation has landed in Singapore. Having visited the exhibition, we have come up with 5 reason why you should never miss this amazing event happening at Takashimaya Square B2, and Nee Ann City Civic Plaza.

1. Grab a selfie with the majestic Gundam & Zaku Statues

This is probably the next best thing next to the life-size Gundam statue. If you can’t visit Japan, then you should definitely visit Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza where two 1/3 scale, weighing 2 tonnes each and 6 meters tall Gundam RX-78-2 and Char’s Zaku face off against each other. And do not miss the daily light and sound shows that is held in the evening. In addition, there are 10 smaller 1.7-metre Zaku models that lines up to the entrance of Nee Ann City, and walking that path just feels like a grand entrance.

2. Purchase the limited edition SG50 Gundam Merchandise

In celebration of Singapore’s 50th Birthday, Bandai Namco Asia has collaborated with acclaimed mechanic designer Kunio Okawara to create Singapore’s only SG50 Gundam Model Kit. Limited quantities of the HG RX-78-2 GUNDAM Ver. SG50 will be available for sale daily at Takashimaya Square. Singapore is the only country to have their own exclusive color Gundam in the world, so this is a must-have for all Singapore gunpla collectors.

Okawara-san himself has a few words about this new Gundam:

“It is such an honor to be able to design this special Gundam in celebration of Singapore’s 50th anniversary. This design is inspired by the red and white colours of Singapore’s national flag and my impressions towards the beauty and cleanliness of the country. I hope everyone likes this and it would be my great pleasure”

While only the HG version of the SG50 Gundam is on sale, the RG and PG version of the Gundam model is also on display at Takashimaya Square. Apart from gunpla, there are many other merchandise with the SG version plastered on it.

3. Be awed by the showcase of over 200 Gundam models

The 4,000sqm showfloor of Takashimaya Square has been converted into an amazing Gundam showcase, featuring over 200 Gundam models of the Gundam series. The Gundam models on display include different grades, including the High Grade, Real Grade, Master Grade and Perfect Grade Gundam models.

Each of the acrylic showcase come with nice lighting, so that you can grab a nice photo of your favorite Gundam models with ease.

4. Meet the seiyuus behind Gundam Build Fighter
