Additional cast members have been announced to join the latest anime movie in the Naruto franchise, Boruto: Naruto the Movie, which will feature the next generation of ninjas and will take place after the events of Masashi Kishimoto’s celebrated shounen manga.

Voicing Himawari Uzumaki, the little sister of Boruto and daughter of Hinata Hyuuga and Naruto Uzumakiwill, will be none other than Saori Hayami (OreImo’s Ayase Aragaki and The Irregular at Magic High School’s Miyuki Shiba). Voicing the mysterious Konoha ninja, Mitsuki, who is part of the team which Boruto and Sarada Uchiha belong to, is Ryuuichi Kijima, who is slowly getting into the seiyuu industry after being casted as the lead of the God Eater anime, Renka Utsugi.

Also joining the cast is Kensho Ono (Kuroko’s Basketball’s Kuroko Tetsuya and Aldnoah.Zero’s Slaine Troyard), who will be voicing Shikadai Nara, the son of Shikamaru Nara and the sand ninja, Temari. Daisuke Namikawa (Hetalia’s Italy, Fate/ Zero’s Waver Velvet and The Heroic Legend of Arslan’s Narsus) meanwhile will be voicing one of the movie’s antagonists, Momoshiki, while Hiroki Yasumoto (Hetalia’s Germany and Yowamushi Pedal’s Shingo Kinjou) will be voicing Momoshiki’s subordinate, Kinshiki.

Boruto: Naruto the Movie will premiere in Japan on 7 August with Hiroyuki Yamashita, an episode director for Naruto Shippuden, will be directing the anime movie. Meanwhile Naruto creator, Masashi Kishimoto, has been quite active in the movie’s production as he is credited with its original story, script, and character designs, as well as being the movie’s chief production supervisor. He also illustrated the movie’s key visual image seen above.
