The official website for legendary anime director, Mamoru Hosoda’s latest animated film, The Boy and the Beast, has been updated with two new trailers for the upcoming fantasy anime movie.

The first trailer introduces the two main characters, Kyuuta (the boy) and Kumatetsu (the beast):

While the second trailer introduces the film as an alternative story about a parent and a child. Both new trailers feature the movie’s theme song, Starting Over by J-rock band, MJr. Children.

The Boy and the Beast will be the latest anime movie added to Mamoru Hosoda’s already-impressive repertoire, which already includes classics like Wold Children, The Girl Who Leaped Through Time, and Summer Wars. The movie, which will premiere on 11 July in Japan, is both written and directed by Hosoda himself, and he also created the movie’s concept.
