For the first time in her career, LiSA will be performing in the Philippines this Saturday, 27 June 2015 at the Samsung Hall in SM Aura Premiere in Taguig, and the Filipino fans are really looking forward to the show as well as to greet her with Filipino hospitality.

In the Philippines, anime like the Fate series, Sword Art Online, and Nisekoi have been proven to be very popular. Having performed the theme songs for these anime, LiSA is well known amongst her Filipino fans. Fans will certainly be looking for the her performing from these series as Filipinos certainly love them.

So besides bringing the cheer with some of her greatest hits, how should LiSA spend time in the country?

The Philippines afterall is a country with a unique mix of cultures, bundled strong influences from Spanish, American, Chinese, and Malay cultures. Hopefully that will give LiSA a great time while in Manila. But why not take a look at some promising aspects of it?

Filipino cuisine,

Which like its culture, is a unique mix of Spanish, American, Chinese, Indian, and Malay, is severely underrated.

LiSA could very well enjoy a few Filipino favourites like the Lechon, the national dish, which is a whole pig stuffed with lemon grass, slowly roasted to have a crispy skin outside, and juicy meat inside.

Another dish she should try should be Adobo, a favorite among many foreigners and is considered a fusion of Spanish and Asian influences. The dish is traditionally made with pork and/or chicken with bay leaves, pepper, soy sauce, onions and other ingredients. It is slowly browned in oil to bring out the meat’s full flavor.

And if she’s feeling adventurous, we suggest she try two popular dishes which usually weird out many foreigners. One is of course, is the legendary Balut, boiled fertilized duck egg with the duckling inside, It’s something which some locals (myself included) won’t even touch.

And the other being Dinuguan, which is pork blood stew traditionally served with Puto, a local rice cake.

Places she could visit,

She could go to the beautiful Taal lake, where in the middle is the Taal volcano. Just a few hours drive from Manila, the Taal Volcano is a beauty of mother nature as the volcano itself is located in the main island of Luzon on an island the middle of a lake.

The volcano itself features a lake in the middle, and in the middle of that lake, there is another island. Island Inception!

But should her schedule is a bit too hectic, she could visit the country’s famous walled city, Intramuros, which is steeped in history and tradition. In Spanish, Intramuros means “within the walls”, and this “walled city” serves as the oldest district in Manila.

Intramuros features traditional Spanish fortress designs and is designed to keep invaders from conquering Manila. Within it, she can ride the traditional Spanish-era horse-drawn carriage known as the Kalesa. She can also visit some of Intramuros’s beautiful structures like the archway gate of Fort Santiago, the historic Manila Cathedral, San Agustin Church,  an UNESCO World Heritage site.

Not to say that LiSA will get time to visit or eat any of our recommendations but here’s hopping she will have a lasting memory of her trip to the Philippines
