By donating blood, people can save lives. But how do you get people in Japan’s Ibaraki Prefecture to come forward and donate? With the help of their local favorite anime, Girls und Panzer of course!
The popular tank battle anime has been responsible for turning the small fishing town of Oarai in Ibaraki into a must-see destination for anime, thus making Garupan a local favorite within the prefecture. And for the third year in a row, the Japanese Red Cross Society in Ibaraki has teamed up with the Oarai girls for another blood drive and help get people to donate blood in exchange for a few goodies.
Donors who give 400mL of their own precious blood will receive a poster, a clear file folder, and button pin which proudly states that they have taken up blood donation, and at the same time, they have taken up tankery.
The blood drive will start on 1 August 2015 until 31 August 2015 and will also be promoting the Girls und Panzer movie, which will be premiering this 21 November 2015. The collaboration will be implemented in various Red Cross centers across Ibaraki.
