Moyashimon’s mangaka, Ishikawa, drew the bottle’s illustration himself, and it features the bacteria known as Aspergillus oryzae, which is not only featured in his manga and anime, but also plays a vital role in the process of sake making. The sake itself also uses a new yeast strain known as Kyokai no. 1901.

Shunnouten, which was founded back in 1790, will only be making 1,200 bottles of these sake, which will become available next month in August. Each 500mL bottle of this Moyashimon Sake costs 1,500 yen.
