Two new trailers have been released for the live-action Bakuman movie. The adaptation stars Takeru Satoh (live-action Rurouni Kenshin’s Kenshin Himura) and Ryunosuke Kamiki (live-action Rurouni Kenshin’s Soujirou Seta) as the two main protagonists, Moritaka Mashiro and Akito Takagi respectively, have been released by the TOHO Movie Channel. The first one is the movie’s full-length trailer:

The second one meanwhile is the movie’s teaser trailer and is a shorter version of the video seen above:

Bakuman is a movie based on Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata’s manga about making a manga, and true enough, its theme song, “Shin Takarajima” by the J-Rock band, Sakanaction, is inspired by a manga, and both trailers feature that very song!

The title for “Shin Takarajima” comes from Osamu Tezuka’s very first manga ever published, “The New Treasure Island”, which of course has paved the way for future mangakas and pioneered Japan’s young manga industry when it was first published back in 1947.

Created by the very same people who created Death Note, Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata, Bakuman follows aspiring mangakas Moritaka Mashiro and Akito Takagi as they try to create Shounen Jack’s top mangas. The live-action movie adaptation will make its premiere this 3 October 2015 in theaters across Japan.
