Even if we aren’t getting season 2 this year, 2015 has proven to be an excellent year for Hajime Isayama’s Attack on Titan as its not only retaining its New York Times bestseller status, but its first live-action movie has just premiered in Japan, and its spin-off manga, Attack on Titan: Junior High, has also been announced to receive an anime adaptation!

The anime, which is based on Saki Nakagawa’s hilarious spin-off manga, will be making its premiere this October 2015. It re-imagines the Attack on Titan characters as Junior High School kids/ teachers/ staff, and is considerable more light-hearted (and funnier) than Isayama’s original work. It will be animated by Madhouse.

It has also been announced that the cast will be returning to voice their respective characters from the original anime series, and they are:

  • Yuuki Kaji (High School DXD’s Issei Hyoudou) as Eren Jaeger
