With its 2016 premiere already determined, Sega teased Phantasy Star Online fans further with the first trailer for the anime adaptation of Phantasy Star Online 2. The PV gives us a first look at the story’s three main characters.

Previously, it was revealed that the three main characters for this 15th anniversary anime adaptation will be voiced by Shouta Aoi (UtaPri’s Ai Mikaze), who previously played the main character for the Phantasy Star Online 2 stage play, Takuya, however, in the play, he will voice Itsuki Tachibana. Joining him are M.A.O. (Brunhildr in the Darkness’s Kazumi Schlierenzauer and School Live’s Yuuki), who will be voicing Aika Suzuki, and Ayaka Suwa (Absulute Duo’s Tomoe Tachibana and Riddle Story of Devil’s Tokaku Azuma), who will be voicing Rina Izumi.

Hayate the Combat Butler! director, Keiichiro Kawaguchi, will be directing the series over at Telecom Animation Film, with Mitsutaka Hirota (Persona 4 the Animation) writing and supervising the scripts. Full Metal Alchemist’s Minoko Takasu meanwhile, is doing the character designs.

The anime’s story will be a completely original one that is not found in the game nor the stage play, and will be set in the near future.
