I LOVE ANISONG concert series one of the key highlights of Anime Festival Asia, and the list of performing artistes for AFASG has been announced. The concert’s theme for this year is “Reboot”, and it promises many new artistes who will be performing for their first time on the AFA stage.

Without further ado, let’s take a quick look at the artists who will be performing on the first of the three-nights extravaganza.

Back-On

Best know for their work on anime and games like, Tales of the World Radiant Mythology 2, Air Gear, Murder Princess and most recently Gundam Build Fighters Try, Back-On formed back in 2002 when Kenji03(vocals, guitar), Gori(bass), Teeda(vocals) and Shu(guitar), left their respective bands to unite as one.

AFA 2015 will mark the first time that Back-On have performed for the I Love Anisong concert. However it is not their first concert in Singapore, as they had visited Singapore back in June to rock the Gundam Docks stages for two consecutive days. Here’s a taste of what they will be able to offer when they make their AFA debut later this year.

bless4

Consisting of siblings, AKASHI, KANASA, AKINO, and AIKI, bless4 is a band originating from the United States making their name in Japan. Best known for their contributions to animated series like Disney’s Stitch and Amagi Brilliant Park, the group have their own record label, Kawamitsu Records, and have launched the solo careers of both AKINO and AIKI.

Like Back-On this will not be bless4’s first performance in Singapore, having performed at Funan Anime Matsuri earlier this year. Here’s a taste of what bless4 will bring to AFA this year!

HoneyWorks/ CHICO with Honeyworks

Circle HoneyWorks consists mainly of Gom and shito (composers), and Yamako (illustrator), with Oji, mogelatte and Rocoru, ziro and cake joining the group  as support members. Some of their most popular songs include, Suki Kirai and Kokuhaku Yokou Renshuu. The group then made their first major debut with Zutto Maekara Sukideshita which rose to an impressive fourth place on the Oricon charts. With a ‘rock-esque’ style to their songs, the group will undoubtedly rock the convention hall. AFA will mark HoneyWork’s debut in Singapore.

In addition, CHICO with Honeyworks is a new collaboration between separate Vocaloid creators Chico and HoneyWorks. They had previously performed theme songs for the Ao Haru Ride and Magic Kaito 1412 television anime series. Their latest work “Pride Kakumei” was featured as the theme song for the Gintama anime series.

ZAQ

Beginning to learn the piano at the tender age of three, ZAQ decided to begin her career as a singer during her college years. However, she had failed her auditions, undeterred, she taught herself how to compose music and soon made a name for herself with her unique style unrestricted by music theory. After writing songs for other artists in 2012, she made her solo debut with Lantis with Sparkling Daydream the song used for Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! (Chu-2 Byo demo Koi ga Shitai!). Other contributions to anisong include Gekijouron, the second opening theme for  High School DxD New and Extra Revolution,  the  opening for Yūsha ni Narenakatta Ore wa Shibushibu Shūshoku o Ketsui Shimashita (Yu-shibu).  AFA2015 will mark ZAQ’s debut in Singapore and here’s a taste of what she’ll bring to the I Love Anisong stage.
