This season brings forth a deluge of series from yesterday, not a rehash, but a continuation. We see a continuation of some well-loved series from spring and another from yesteryear . Here are the sequels we would be watching out for this season:

Noragami Aragoto ( aka Noragami Season 2 )

aragoto
Date Airing: 3 October 2015
Starring : Hiroshi Kamiya, Yuuki Kaji and Maaya Uchida
Summary: One of the major arcs covered in the manga is the Bishamon arc and the new series is bringing just that. Noragami is a story by Adachitoka and follows the story of a wandering god named Yato(CV:Hiroshi Kamiya), who would do odd jobs, so that one day he can fulfill his wish of having a dedicated shrine of his own. On better days, he and his shinki, Yukine(CV:Yuuki Kaji),who conveniently turns into a sword, Sekki, would slay demons and unruly gods.
Why am I watching? For people following the series, we’ll definitely see a new side of Bishamon ( CV:Miyuki Sawashiro) and how her vestiges/shinki work together. (It’s a lot more complicated since there are a lot of shinki serving Bishamon and there’s a hierarchy within the shinki). We will also get to see the reason why Kazuma(CV: Jun Fukuyama) is indebted to Yato. (See season 1 episode 07), that’s something to look forward to (hopefully!).

Owari No Seraph 2

seraph

Date Airing: 10 October 2015
Starring: Miyu Irino, Kensho Ono, Yuichi Nakamura, Saori Hayami, Kaito Ishikawa, Nobuhiko Okamoto
Summary: Continuing from where the series left off, after successfully defending Shinjuku from the vampires, our heroes take a step back to assess their current standing against the vampire and train further before their deciding battle in Nagoya. The series is written by Takaya Kagami and illustrated by Yamato Yamamoto on Jump Square.
Why am I watching? Owari no Seraph is still an interesting series. There’s still that mystery if humanity will ever win the war against the vampires and reclaim back what was once lost. We wonder if there are other vampires and if the empire will expand their territory and claim finally Japan, if not the world,  as theirs? With the series still in serialization and looking at how the anime will pace,we can expect an anime-only ending. In case readers are curious, season 1 of Owari No Seraph stopped at Vol 4 Chapter 15 of the manga.

Young Black Jack ( Technically not a Sequel but a Prequel! )

young-black-jack-01-akita
Date Airing: 2 October 2015
Starring: Yuichiro Umehara, Yusa Kouji
Summary: Written and illustrated by the Father of Manga, Ozamu Tezuka, on 19 Nov 1973, Black Jack tells the story of an unlicensed doctor, Kuro Hazama, who practices his profession by selling his skill to the highest bidder. The series was serialized in Weekly Shounen Champion. The anime will be focusing on the younger days of Kuro Hazama(CV:Yuichiro Umehara) as a medical student.
Why am I watching? Marking the 42nd year since its initial conceptualization, this adaptation is giving a series a fresh look. Unlike its predecessor anime,  Black Jack, the show will now focus on the younger years of the protagonist, Kuro Hazama. We know him last time as this maverick practitioner who performs this avant-garde medical procedures even without having a medical license. (Think Mike Ross in Suits, if you know what I mean). We will see him now this young, probably idealistic, medical student who dreams one day to cure incurable disease.

Haikyuu Season 2

hqs2visual1_new
Date Airing: 4 October 2015
Starring: Ayumu Murase, Kaito Ishikawa, Hino Satoshi, Yoshimasa Hosoya, Kouki Uchiyama
Summary: It’s been a year since we last saw these men in black in action. Karasuno is staging a comeback and this time, they are prepared to face their opponents in the toughest match this season – the Spring tournament. Will the Strongest decoy “最強の囮 (saikyou no otori)” combination of Kageyama(CV:Kaito Ishikawa) and Hinata(CV:Ayumu Murase) persists on? Will Karasuno be at their game and stay long enough in the stage prepared for them this time around?
Why would I watch this? We want to see these black birds persist on and win in their next game. We also want to see if they can stage a comeback against their rival team from Aoba Jousai Koukou. We want to cheer them on especially the third-years who will soon resign from the team after the tournament, and we want to see if the legacy of the Chiisa na Kyojin ( Small Giant) will live on.  It’ll only be a matter of time, but for now, we can only wait and see till then.

( A Non-Sequel Series Worth Mentioning)
One Punch Man

one-punch
Date airing : 5 October 2015
Starring: Yuuki Kaji, Makoto Furukawa, Kaito Ishikawa
Summary: What if you trained so hard to the point of losing all your follicles in the head just to land a single, definitive punch that can defeat any evil – this story is just that! This story tells the tale of a courageous man, Saitama (CV:Makoto Furukawa), who trained so hard that he lost all his hair. In his stringent training, he learned how to focus his energy and land a single punch to defeat his opponents! He now seek to find stronger adversaries to defeat.
Why am I watching? We are intrigued to see how the main protagonist, Saitama, will defeat his enemies in just a single punch! We wonder if there’ll come a time when he has to lash out more than a few punches and if ever there’s going to be a person who can compel him to do so.
Watch this if you like? Action, Dragon Ball Super ( only because of that overarching character named Son Goku who seeks to find stronger opponents to defeat, ergo Beerus)
