Neon Genesis Evangelion is currently celebrating its 20 years of success since the anime changed the landscape of Japanese animation in 1995. One of the companies it is collaborating with for its 20th anniversary celebrations is the Taiwanese mobile accessory manufacturer CORESUIT, who are introducing three new smartphone covers inspired by the three main characters’ plug suits.
This smartphone “armor” may not have an AT Field to protect you from an Angel attack, but it will protect your phone from scratches, bumps, etc. The design also makes any Eva fan want one as it impressively copies the plug suit or mecha colors from the anime itself. According to the product information over at Pleiades Systems Design, even the animation team which made the Eva anime were impressed with the design.
These Eva smartphone “armors” come in three different designs, one for Rei Ayanami/ Eva Unit 00. one for Shinji Ikari/ Eva Unit 01, and one for Asuka Langley Soryuu/ Eva Unit 02. Sorry Mari fans, she did not appear in the original 1995 anime.
Rei Ayanami/ Eva Unit 00
Shinji Ikari/ Eva Unit 01
Asuka Langley Soryuu/ Eva Unit 02
Each smartphone cover costs 9,800 yen and is available for Apple’s iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s. It is now available online via Amazon Japan.

This makes it sound like the iPhone is 20 years old.
