During the press conference for Macross Delta last 29 October 2015, the series’ supervising director, Shouji Kawamori, made several important announcements about the show, including the new seiyuu and singer who won an audition which involved 8,000 participants, who will also be voicing the latest Macross heroine!

18-year-old Minori Suzuki from Aichi Prefecture will be following in the footsteps of the half-Filipino seiyuu, Megumi Nakajima, who herself catapulted to stardom because she was chosen to voice Ranka Lee, one of the two heroines for Macross Frontier. Suzuki will be voicing Freyja Wion, one of the five idols who will be part of the series’ main cast. Here are the new visuals for the anime:

As you can see with the visuals, the anime will feature an all-female idol group, and this will be the first time this has happened in the franchise as Ranka Lee, Sheryl Nome, and Lynn Minmay were all solo artistes while Macross 7 featured an 80’s-style rock band… because it’s from the 80’s. The seiyuus or singers for the other four members are yet to be revealed.

Hmmmm… if we could get our next Megumi Nakajima in this anime, would we also get our new May’n? Looks like we will find out once the anime’s very first episode will be introduced via a special program on 31 December 2015, right before the New Year! A new PV has also been unveiled.

The anime will also feature the  “Aerial Chivalry Order,” a mysterious Valkyrie unit which begins its operations at the same time as “Walküre.”
