After five successful OVAs, Magi: Adventures of Sinbad, is finally getting itself a TV anime adaptation, and they will still follow a young Sinbad in his adventures before the events of the main Magi manga. The series is set to premiere on April 2016, and a new key visual image has been released of the boy who will soon be the “King of the Seven Seas”.

The anime will be part of the Animeism block for MBS, and Daisuke Ono (Black Butler’s Sebastian Michaelis) will be reprising his role as Sinbad, just like in the OVAs and in the two Magi anime series. Yoshikazu Miyao (Inazuma Eleven) will be directing the series over at Lay-Duce.

The anime will be based on the Magi: Sinbad no Bouken manga by Shinobu Ohtaka and Yoshifumi Ootera, which serves as the prequel of the main Magi series. The anime will chronicle Sinbad’s adventures as he gains stronger and more powerful Djinns by conquering various dungeons.

It was also revealed that returning to reprise their roles from the OVAs and the original Magi anime are:
