What happens when classical statues get turned into male idols and get an inexperienced manager? You get the anime, Sekkou Boys. If the anime’s setting isn’t crazy enough, you get some pretty big names voicing these statues-turned-idols.
The cast is led by Tomokazu Sugita (Gintama’s Gintoki, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya’s Kyon), who will be voicing Saint Giorgio, Jun Fukuyama (Code Geass’ Lelouch Lamperouge, Assassination Classroom’s Koro-sensei) as Hermes, Shinnosuke Tachibana (Mekakucity Actors’ Shuuya Kano and Gundam Build Fighters’ Nils Nielsen) as Medici, and Daisuke Ono (Durarara!!’s Shizuo Heiwajima and Black Butler’s Sebastian Michaelis) as Mars. This 4-statue idol unit will be managed by the inexperienced Miki Ishimoto, voiced by Shiho Kokido (PreCure’s Aroma).
Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches director, Tomoki Takuno, will be at the helm of this unique idol anime. which is slated to make its premiere on January 2016 as part of Tokyo MX’s Ultra Super Anime Time programming block. The animation will be produced by Lidden Films.
Well, it’s definitely no iDOLM@STER or Love Live!, huh? The PV for this one-of-a-kind idol anime will be revealed during a talk show event on 3 November, at an art festival of all things, the Nihon University Art Department Art Festival to be exact.
