After months of waiting and being teased with various posters and concept art, we can now see what the Evangelion Shinkansen train looks like thanks to Japanese rail enthusiast website Tetsudo Shimbun, which recently toured the train inspired by the design for Shinji’s Eva-01. Shinji, get in the damn train!

The website’s youtube channel posted several videos of the new Eva bullet train. The first video shows the exterior of the train as it arrives in the station.

The second video takes us to the train’s interior with the passenger area, which offers some Eva-01-inspired seating and NERV decorations.

The third video meanwhile takes us to the train’s exhibit area, where the life-size Evangelion cockpit we introduced in our previous article can be found.

Here are more images of the train from Tetsudo Shimbun:

Hey, even the lavatories have an Eva theme! Fans can even get to sit on the cockpit, but they must first enter an online lottery one month to three days before their departure date. Travel agencies will also be offering special itineraries to book tickets just to get to sit on the pilot’s seat, and it looks like everyone but Shinji wants to get inside the damn robot.

The  “500 Type Eva Project” will be running from mid-autumn 2015 all the way until March 2017, so there is plenty of time to catch these trains when visiting Japan. Special events and limited edition collaboration items during the time of its implementation. Here are the schedules for the train’s journeys:

Hakata Station 6:36a.m. – Shin-Osaka Station 11:14 a.m. (Kodama 730)
Shin-Osaka Station 11:32 a.m. – Hakata Station 4:07 p.m. (Kodama 741).
