[ANIME] -Free! Starting Days- reveals returning cast and movie theme song

The cast for the High Speed ~ Free! Starting Days ~ movie is now coming to full circle. The official website reveals the other casts joining Haruka Nanase (CV:Nobunaga Shimazaki), Makoto Tachibana (CV:Tatsuhisa Suzuki) , Asahi Shiina( CV: recently married Toshiyuki Toyonaga), and Ikuya Kirishima (CV: Kouki Uchiyama) for the movie.

Returning to Free! franchise are  Chihiro Suzuki (Soichiro Arima in Kareshi Kanojou no Jijou) who played Kisumi Shigino in the second season of Free! Eternal Summer (Remember that episode with the younger brother whom Makoto-sensei was teaching..). He will voice a middle schooler Kisumi who goes to Iwatobi Middle School. He loves playing basketball. Being the social person that he is, he invites Haruka and others to join and play basketball.

Joining Kisumi is  Yoshimasa Hosoya ( Nagare Akiba in Ushio to Tora ) who , of course, will play a middle schooler Sousuke Yamazaki. He goes to Sano Middle School and is close friends with Rin Matsuoka.

Who else can play a middle schooler Rin Matsuoka but popular seiyuu, Mamoru Miyano (Saruhiko Fushimi in K ). At this point of the story, Rin is in Australia honing his skills in swimming.

What happened to Rei Ryugazaki(CV:Youko Hikasa) and Nagisa Hazuki (CV:Satomi Satou), you might ask? They’re both still in grade school year 6! While grade schooler Rei is still into reading books, grade schooler Nagisa had shown interest in swimming early on and attends Iwatobi Swim Club.

As the story goes, grade schooler Nagisa meets middle-schooler Haruka and Makoto at the Iwatobi Swim Club and competes in a swim meet. Aoi Yuuki ( Krul Tepes in Owari no Seraph) and Akeno Watanabe (Gou Matsuoka in Free!) will also reprise their roles as grade schooler Sousuke Yamazaki and grade schooler Rin Matsuoka in the movie.

OLDCODEX will perform the movie theme song “Aching Horns”, and the single will be released on 16 December 2015.

The movie is set a few years back from the timeline of the Free! TV series.Makoto (CV:Tatsuhisa Suzuki) and Haru (CV:Nobunaga Shimazaki) are middle schoolers at Iwatobi Middle School and had just joined the school’s swim team. They’re still reeling from their win at the Iwatobi Swim Club‘s medley race, and they have decided to form a team with Asahi Shiina (CV:Toshiyuki Toyonaga) and Ikuya Kirishima (CV:Kouki Uchiyama) to compete on the next medley race. With the boys having some difference in opinions, will they be able to come together and be a team?
