Bandai’s Robot Spirits (Robot Damashii) articulated figure line, which highlights mecha anime, mangas, and games, has announced a new sub-line for the Gundam franchise called the “Robot Damashii ver. A.N.I.M.E”. The official Bandai YouTube channel also started streaming a new ad just for these new figures, which are (of course) kicking off with (what else?) the RX-78-2 Gundam.
The new ver. A.N.I.M.E figures, which stand for Action New Imagination Memory Emotion, feature greater articulation, with more elaborate joints than previous Robot Damashii figures.
The RX-78-2 Gundam ver. A.N.I.M.E. is scheduled for release on February 2016 for 5,400 yen. It will be followed by Char’s custom Zaku II in March.
After Char’s Zaku II, another figure from the original 1979 anime will be released, and that will be the Dom in April 2016, followed by the mass-produced Zaku II in May 2016.
