Do you find the maids in Akihabara too skinny or too small? Are you one of those people who find Super Sonico too skinny and prefer her sister, Super Pochaco? For those who want them big, boy do we have some good news for you, because a special kind of maid cafe has just opened in Akihabara, and it’s called Shangrila!

Often called “Marshmallow Girls” in Japan, these full-sized maids will be offering service with a smile, much like any old regular maid cafe. Founded on the ideal of being “bositive” (“body positive”) to help lower the stigma of being chubby or slightly overweight, and show to the Japanese that you don’t have to be skinny to be cute, and that you can find beauty in all shapes and sizes.

But that’s not all, Japan has a Karaage (Japanese-style fried chicken) idol, and her name is Arino Iku, and it just so happens that she also works in this cafe!

Shangrila also boasts using only the freshest organic ingredients, and they even have a real Italian chef! They are so proud of this fact that they can even boast of having “the best pizza in Akihabara.” Well, that boast has not yet been confirmed so far, but their resident Italian chef works a traditional Italian brick oven, which has been proven to enhance a pizza’s flavor as compared to the standard convection ovens often used. Here are some of their lovely plus-size maids, Ai, Enen, Natsumi, Rukia, and Cocoa:
