One Piece Run is hitting Japan for the first time, and they are doing it in Okinawa. But did you know that the One Piece Run actually started outside of Japan, in Taiwan? To promote the Okinawa run, Avex Pictures has started streaming a new video which takes a look at that Taiwan marathon involving 11,500 participants, as well as One Piece-inspired sets that include those from the Fishman Island arc and Punk Hazard. :

The 5.5Km marathon run will be held in Okinawa on 20 March 2016. To complete this marathon’s One Piece theme, the runners will be passing through various sets, which are modeled after some of the unforgettable locations in One Piece. And like most marathons these days, freebies such as shirts and wristbands will be given away, and those who finish the marathon also get a special treat as there will be an after party right after the race, with singer Hiroshi Kitadani and J-pop band D-51 performing as guests. Both musical acts have performed the 1st and 6th OP songs respectively.

But the One Piece run ain’t just hitting Japan, it will be hitting Singapore as well, as revealed during AFASG 2015. The marathon will be held in Singapore on 6 March 2016, and interested participants can register via their official website:

Prizes and goodies will also be up for grabs, including One Piece Run shirts, bags, race bibs, and towels. More information about the marathon can be found via their official website or their official Facebook page.
