If you have been following the One Piece manga, you might notice that a certain blonde cook who loves the ladies was missing in the story for nearly two years. Yes, despite being one of the main characters, Sanji was not seen in the manga (and the anime as well) for quite some time.

Sanji has been away since Chapter 730 of the manga, which was released last 9 December 2013, but returned in August this year when Chapter 795 was released. And like the manga, he also wasn’t seen in the anime adaptation as well. However, thanks to an announcement during the One Piece Super Stage event, mangaka, Eiichiro Oda, announced that he will be making his long-awaited return in 2016. It was also announced that Hiroaki Hirata will be reprising his role as Sanji during that time, and Oda also confirmed that there will also be an origin story for Sanji.

This news of course was met with cheers during the event, and these cheers from the fans were recorded by the One Piece staff. They said that the loud and happy reaction from the fans will be used for the anime’s Dressrossa arc.
