The “Mahou Shounen” or “Magical Boy” anime, Cute High Earth Defense Club Love!, is headed from 2D to 2.5D as a live-action stage play adaptation has been announced, and it is scheduled for March of next year. An official website has just been opened, and it announces the eight cast members confirmed to be a part of the play:
Yumoto Hakone: Tomoru Akazawa (Jiro Akutagawa in The Prince of Tennis Musical)
En Yufuin: Maasa Igarashi (Sanosuke Harada in Hakuouki musicals)
Atsushi Kinugawa: Yuuki Ochi (Shun Kiryu in Harukanaru Toki no Naka de 5)
Io Naruko: Shouta Takasaki (Eiji Kikumaru in The Prince of Tennis Musical)
Ryuu Zaou: Yoshihiko Aramaki (Yujiro kai in The Prince of Tennis Musical)
Kinshiro Kusatsu: Takahisa Maeyama (Sora Takigawa/Gremlin in Kamen Rider Wizard)
Ibushi Arima: Yu Imari (Roronoa Zoro in One Piece Live Attraction at Tokyo One Piece Tower)
Akoya Gero: Souta Kashiwagi
The play is scheduled to be performed at the Zepp Blue Theater Roppongi in Tokyo from 10 – 13 March 2016, with Sessya Meunière theatrical company leader, Hiroki Murakami both writing and directing the play. Premium tickets will be sold at 9,800 yen, while general seating will cost 6,800 yen.
A second season for Cute High Earth Defense Club Love! has been confirmed. The first season of Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE! went on air in Winter 2015. The story follows the members of the Earth Defense Club: Yumoto Hakone (Kazutomi Yamamoto), En Yufuin (Yuichirou Umehara), Atsushi Kinugawa (Kotaro Nishiyama), Io Naruko (Yusuke Shirai) and Ryu Zao (Toshiki Masuda) in their daily activities. The five of them, with a trusty pink wombat by their side, transform into the Battle Lovers, the heirs to the throne of love, who are tasked with saving the world from monsters. Of course, they do get their due time off – with a nice visit to the hot springs after all their work is done.
