The poster for Katsuhiro Otomo’s Akira, may just be one of the most iconic movie posters from any work to come out of Japan, and it certainly immortalizes the protagonist Kaneda’s badassery. It’s a pretty simple one for a Japanese movie poster, but it certainly spoke volumes about the movie.
We all know that the poster shows Kaneda walking to his iconic motorcycle, but the poster became so famous, that many people have made their own parodies of it. They certainly did a good job in giving a homage to Akira, and these parodies also feature other iconic characters. Below are a few of them:
Ray (with BB-8) from Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Kamen Rider
Son Goku from Dragon Ball
Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy VII
The Paperboy from Paperboy
Mario (Mario Kart ver.)
Panthro from ThunderCats
Red from Pokemon
Officer Jenny from Pokemon
Flynn from Tron
Now those are really some great renditions. I wonder if there is a Digimon, or even a Ghost Rider version of this?
