For the winter 2016 edition of the bi-annual figure event known as Wonder Festival (WonFes for short), it has been revealed that Yotsuba&! and Azumanga Daioh mangaka, Kiyohiko Azuma, has once again designed the festival’s two mascots, , Wanda-chan and Reset-chan.

In the new visual, Wanda-chan and Reset-chan are presented with shovels, which are typically used for the winter season to clear paths blocked by snow. It is a common chore in Japan for this season, and a fitting one for the winter edition of Wonder Festival.

The last time Azuma did the visual for the bi-annual figure event was for Summer WonFes 2015’s Neo Genesis Evangelion-themed visual, which was a tribute to the mecha classic’s 20th anniversary. This would be the second time he will be illustrating the two mascots, which were originally designed by the late Keinojou Mizutama, who passed away in 2014.

Winter Wonder Festival 2016 will be held in its traditional home at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba on 7 February 2016, and it will once again be hosting some of the biggest names in the Japanese figure industries like Good Smile Company, Alter, Kotobukiya, Kaiyodo, and many more. However, as they say, the real stars of WonFes are the independent garage kit makers, who show off their original fan-made creations (mostly figures) during the event.
