Selector Destructed WIXOSS, the new movie for the WIXOSS trading card game by Takara Tomy, had a limited premiere last weekend. To further promote the film, Warner Brothers Anime has started streaming a brand new trailer for the film, which opened in 13th place in the Box Office last weekend.

With recurring themes that include bullying and incest, the Selector WIXOSS anime has certainly made the trading card game genre a lot darker than it used to. Based on the film’s opening minutes, the movie is just as dark as the previous anime, Selector Infected WIXOSS and Selector Spread WIXOSS.

Previously, Warner Brothers Anime also streamed the first eight minutes of the film, and you can check it out here: http://www.afachan.asia/2016/02/movie-first-8-minutes-selector-destructed-wixoss-film/

Introduced in April of last year, the Wixoss trading card game was launched along with the anime, which gained much critical acclaim and was considered the “Madoka Magica” of the trading card game genre. It revolves around the “selectors”, girls chosen to play a special version of Wixoss, and if they reach a certain number of wins, they will become the “Eternal Girl” and have one wish granted, however, getting that wish granted ain’t as it seems to be.

The trading card game inspired two anime series, with the first one titled Selector Infected Wixoss and the second one being titled Selector Spread Wixoss. Oh, and did we mention that it’s pronounced “Wicross” and not “Wixoss?”
