With the announcement of the upcoming Danganronpa 3 TV anime, many fans of Spike Chuunsoft’s murder-mystery series were left wondering why they skipped Danganronpa 2. However, new character visuals from the new anime has revealed that some of the characters from the second game will be making it into Danganronpa 3.

These new visuals are from the next issue of Weekly Famitsu Magazine, which revealed that Danganronpa 3 will be split into two chapters, “Future” and “Despair.” The character designs seen above are from the “Despair” chapter, which features the characters from Danganronpa 2, who will be playing roles in the anime. It has not yet been revealed whether the “Despair” chapter is actually the story of Danganronpa 2.

Previously, Famitsu revealed new characters, and it was revealed that they are from the anime’s “Future” chapter, including the more mature versions of Makoto Naegi, Kyouko Kirigi, Aoi Asahina, and Yasuhiro Hagakure.

Danganronpa 3 – The End of Hope’s Peak Academy- will be serving as the conclusion to the Hope’s Peak Academy series, which includes the first two Danganronpa games, as well as the spin-off third person shooter. It will be an original story not featured in any of the other murder mystery games by Spike Chuunsoft. The title is called Danganronpa 3, however, it will only be the 2nd Danganronpa TV anime, as the anime’s story will be skipping the second game.
