Japan’s National Baseball Team, also known as Samurai Japan and ranked #1 in the world of Baseball, is a powerhouse with victories over the United States. The team is currently in a collaboration with Mr. Osomatsu for the anime’s generations-spanning appeal. One of the anime’s characters, Iyami, has recently gotten the honor of throwing the ceremonial first pitch during an exhibition match against Chinese Taipei, another Asian powerhouse team.
Iyami really turned on the ham, huh? Needless to say, he really entertained the crowd, together with other baseball mascots, and he even did a little dancing himself!

The two warm-up games against Chinese Taipei were both won by Japan, and the Samurai Japan Baseball Team won 5-0 at the Nagoya Dome, and 9-3 at the Kyocera Dome Osaka. Both matches served as a tune-up for both teams as they prepare for the upcoming World Baseball Classic.
According to NPB Enterprise, the company that is planning the collaboration, Mr. Osomatsu was chosen because its fandom has spanned generations, from the original manga, which made its debut in 1966, to the new anime, which premiered last year.
