The live-action film adaptation of Yuki Suetsugu’s Chihayafuru manga has teamed up with NTV’s ZIP! the morning program, which has featured actress Suzu Hirose as the titular heroine, in a couple of new videos, where she, as Chihaya, is giving a few Karuta-inspired love advice.

In the first video, she uses Ariwara no Narihara’s Poem 17 in Hyakunin Isshuu as a reference to give advice about confessions, where she tells the viewers that one must not be direct in giving their love confessions, and they must be casual about it. Meanwhile, for the second video…

The second “love advice” video quotes Fujiwara no Atsutada’s Poem 43, where Chihaya talks about the importance of how lovers must reaffirm their love to one another.

The first film is titled Chihayafuru: Kami no Ku, and it is slated to premiere on 19 March 2016. The second movie, titled Chihayafuru: Shimo no Ku, will be shown in Japanese cinemas on 29 April 2016. As revealed earlier, the movie’s key visual image is inspired by the manga‘s second Tankoubon volume.
