A change in season brings forth an onslaught of new series and more of Kaji Yuuki!  Apparently, he’s in (almost) practically every series this season! No kidding! You can see him in Joker Game, Gyakuten Saiban, Kiznaiver, Koutetsujou no Kabaneri, Boku no Hero Academia, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, etc… But enough of Kaji Yuuki, here’s a look at what’s in store for us this spring 2016 and what are the series that we are watching!

Sakamoto Desu Ga sakamoto-poster Stars: Hikaru Midorikawa, Akira Ishida, Tomokazu Sugita
Series Premiere: 8 April 2016
Summary: Sakamoto Desu Ga tells the story of the coolest guy to walk the earth, Sakamoto(CV:Hikaru Midorikawa). His looks are plain as day, yet people described him to be anything but ordinary. No matter what his classmates do to him to make him look unpopular, he is still unfazed and manages to be as cool as cucumber!
Why would I watch this? Sitting well on top of the list of manga that needs to be animated, Sakamoto desu ga is just what the doctor ordered — a series with a dose of humor to brighten up your day. Watching this series may help get you tips on how to look cool, be suave, do everything with ease and grace. It might even give pointers on how to rise above any challenge and be like Sakamoto!

Boku no Hero Academia

Summary: In a world where having a superpower is a norm, a young boy,Izuku Midoriya (CV:Daiki Yamashita),with no ability wishes to make a name for himself and be like everybody else. One day, because Izuku risked his life to save his bully, Katsuki Bakugou(CV: Nobuhiko Okamoto) from a villain, Izuku was bestowed an ability, “One for All” by the world’s greatest hero, All Might (CV:Kenta Miyake). Now, with his new found power, he must learn how to use it and put it to good use.
Why would I watch this? Touted as the series to continue the legacy of Naruto and Dragonball, Boku no Hero Academia maybe is the answer to our prayers to the “drought of good series”.There’s nothing like watching a good old action-packed shounen anime that aims to teach us that “Good always triumphs over evil!”
Watch this if you like: One Punch Man ( in a high school setting), Tiger & Bunny ( without the advertisements)

Series Premiere: 1 April 2016
Summary: 30 people on a tour to an elusive, unknown village of Nanakimura — a place promised to be the perfect utopia. When they arrived at the village, they saw no signs of life in the village — which is far from what they were told and what they had imagined. What’s in store for the crowd of 30? What mystery does the village holds?
Why would I watch this? Reading the plot, the series awfully reminded me of Lost, though this time around, people had readily signed up for a tour to a mysterious ‘utopian’ village. This may be another case of a kamikakushi, where they were all spirited away by some vengeful spirit, or maybe they’re some part of a crazy government experiment. Well, whatever happens we will just have to find out. This series is an original TV anime crowd-funded by anime fans. Hopefully, this series will not leave a bad taste in the mouth and able to deliver a powerful plot-savvy, mystery-thriller series. We do hope that this collaboration between Shirobako’s director, Tsutomu Mizushima and Kuroshitsuji’s scriptwriter, Mari Okada, will give us a series to talk about this season.
