With advancements in technology like Oculus Rift and HTV Vive, we are getting closer and closer to the world of virtual reality, which also makes us want to visit some of the worlds we’ve seen in anime, like the movies from Studio Ghibli. Now, however, you can step into the world of Ghibli, thanks to a new virtual reality experience called Studio Ghibli VR.

If you own any of the major VR headsets like Oculus Rift and HTV Vive, you can download the demo for these Studio Ghibli VR experiences. They are all created by Nick Pittom form Fire Panda, a British virtual reality development studio, which is the same studio behind the Apollo 11 VR experience. You can also check out the playthough video for the VR experience, where the Vive was used.

There are a total of three Ghibli worlds to visit, and they include My Neighbor Totoro, Howl’s Moving Castle, and Spirited Away. While they are still not YET interactive, it’s really interesting to be able to walk in the same field as Howl’s Moving Castle or hang out in a forest with Totoro, right?
