The Gundam ONA (web anime) based on Yasuo Ohtagaki’s popular mecha manga of the same name, Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt, is headed from the internet and into theaters with Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt: December Sky, and Bandai Visual is teasing fans with a brand new commercial.

“December Sky” will act as the ONA’s “director’s cut edition,” and will feature new footage not included in the ONA episodes. It will be approximately 70 minutes long, and will be screened in 15 cinemas across Japan starting 25 June 2016.

The 15 theaters playing the film will also be selling the first press limited “Complete Edition” of the Gundam Thunderbolt series, which is divided into four episodes. The anime is set in the Universal Century timeline’s One Year War, which is the same period as the original 1979 anime, however, Thunderbolt is set in a different theater of war, which is the ever-perilous Thunderbolt Sector, an area filled with debris and old colony ruins.
