The TV anime adaptation for DMM and Nitroplus’s online PC browser game, Touken Ranbu, has finally gotten its very first promotional video (PV). The trailer not only introduces us to the upcoming anime’s two main protagonists, Yamatonokami Yasusada and Kashuu Kiyomitsu, but also the anime’s story.

The TV anime will be set in the year 2205, where historical revisionists are attacking to change the course of history, and only the “Touken Danshi,” the strongest objects imbued with life, can stop them from their goals.

Produced by Douga Kobo and directed by Takashi Naoya (Luck & Logic), Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru will be premiering in October 2016. It will be based on the PC browser game by DMM and Nitroplus, which is another game along the lines of Kantai Collection, which features anthropomorphic ship girls. However, unlike KanColle, the series features anthropomorphic sword boys.
