First announced in 2013, Persona 5 was scheduled for a 2015 release for both the PlayStation 3 (PS3)  and PlayStation 4 PS4 back in 2014. However during Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2015, the publishers announced that the game had been delayed to summer 2016.

A special 20th Anniversary-themed Collector’s Edition was also announced. The Collector’s Edition includes an artbook, a soundtrack from previous Persona games and DLC inspired by previous installments of the series, which includes outfits from Persona 3 and 4. The set is priced at 13800 yen (about 175 SGD).

Together with the game’s announcement, Atlus announced that a special animation, Persona 5 the Animation: The Day Breakers, would be released before the game.
