When you go, better go with style, and that is exactly what “Listen to me, Girls. I am Your Father” and “Mayoi Neko Overrun” light novel author, Tomohiro Matsu, had for his memorial service. The light novel author passed away at the age of 43, and his casket was adorned with illustrations from his colleagues from around the industry.

Visitors wanting to remember the late author were also allowed to take pictures of his illustration-adorned casket, all while the AniSong, “Happy New Nyaa” from the Mayoi Neko Overrun anime adaptation was being played in the background.

pic.twitter.com/jwiJ56SSnc

松智洋先生の告別式に参列。棺桶をみせて頂いて「すごい」と思わず声がでてしまいました。ご遺族から「写真撮影OK、式の後SNSアップもOKですから」と。「そんなバチアタリな事して先生に怒られませんか?」と申しましたら、(続) pic.twitter.com/B3DCTJiuKs

He certainly said goodbye in style, huh? The author has managed to finish both works before his passing last 2 May 2016. However, one of his light novel series will remain unfinished with only four volumes released, and that is his latest LN series, Hatena Illusion. The author has also worked on the scripts for Queen’s Blade: The Exiled Virgin TV anime, as well as a 6-volume light novel series titled Otome 3 Gensoku.
Even though he is busy with his career as an author, Matsu has been quite a well-known member of the Comic Market Preparatory Committee staff, which he has joined while still a student. He last appeared during Comiket 88 last August 2015, where he held a talk show. The Comiket Staff mourned his loss.
We also mourn the loss of such a great author, and a respected figure in the industry, and our hearts go out to the family and friends of Tomohiro Matsu for their loss.
