The light novel industry is in mourning, as one of the industry’s most well-known authors, Tomohiro Matsu, has passed away at the age of 43 due to an unspecified illness. Matsu is best known for two of his light novels, both of which have received TV anime adaptations, and they are “Listen to Me, Girls. I Am Your Father!”(Papa no Iu Koto o Kikinasai!) and “Mayoi Neko Overrun.”
The author has managed to finish both works before his passing last 2 May 2016. However, one of his light novel series will remain unfinished with only four volumes released, and that is his latest LN series, Hatena Illusion. The author has also worked on the scripts for Queen’s Blade: The Exiled Virgin TV anime, as well as a 6-volume light novel series titled Otome 3 Gensoku.
Even though he is busy with his career as an author, Matsu has been quite a well-known member of the Comic Market Preparatory Committee staff, which he has joined while still a student. He last appeared during Comiket 88 last August 2015, where he held a talk show. The Comiket Staff mourned his loss.
