[FOOD] Mamoru Hosoda classics like Wolf Children and Summer Wars inspire cafe’s new menu

Legendary Japanese animation director, Mamoru Hosoda, has brought many classic anime films, from The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, to Wolf Children, to Summer Wars, to his latest work, The Boy and the Beast. The Guest Cafe and Diner in Shibuya Parco in Tokyo is paying tribute to the great director by doing a special theme called the Tokikake Cafe, which is taken from the Japanese name of one of his greatest works, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, which is Toki wo Kakeru Shojo.

Like all anime-themed cafes, the Tokikake Cafe will feature a menu with food and beverages inspired by Mamoru Hosoda’s works. They include:

Wolf Children

Ame and Yuki Cute Ice Tea Latte (680 yen)

Snowy Mountain Shaved Ice (1,180 yen)

Hana’s home-style yakitori with potato salad (1,380 yen)

Summer Wars

Kari Kenji and King Kazuma burger plate (1,480 yen)

Grannie Sakae’s Japanese-style cake set (1,280 yen)

Kari Kenji mango smoothie (1,080 yen)

The Boy and the Beast

Rice and ham omelet by Kyuta’s mom (1,380 yen)

Kyuta and Kumatetsu’s Watermelon juice (980 yen)

Fruit Parfait from the Jutengai marketplace (1,180 yen)

The Girl Who, Leapt Through Time

Purin a la mode (1,380 yen)

Time Leap caffe latte (680 yen)

Chilled pasta made with tomatoes and peaches

Those who purchase these special menu items will also get these specially-illustrated coasters:

Aside from the food and coasters, the cafe, which will be running for a limited time from 7 July until 7 August, will also feature merchandise from these four Mamoru Hosoda movies, and they range from key chains to shot glasses to T-shirts to handkerchiefs:
