A lot of manga and anime are getting adapted into live-action films these days, and it seems that Sui Ishida’s bestselling and highly-popular Tokyo Ghoul series is going to be one of them. This exciting piece of news was announced on a jacket cover for the Tokyo Ghoul:re manga’s Volume 7.

The wrap-around jacket announcement did not reveal much detail about this new Tokyo Ghoul live-action movie adaptation, however, it did announce that further information will be revealed on the next issue of Weekly Young Jump magazine.

The original Tokyo Ghoul manga, which ran for 14 volumes, is written and illustrated by Sui Ishida. It received two highly-popular anime adaptations, as well as a sequel manga with Tokyo Ghoul:re, which is currently being serialized, as well as various spin-offs and OVAs. The series follows Ken Kaneki, an ordinary boy who suddenly became transplanted with organs from a ghoul who attacked him, thus making him a half-ghoul and half-human hybrid, and must eat human flesh in order to sustain his life.

So, what do you guys think of this new live-action movie adaptation? Who would play Kaneki? Would it stay loyal to the original source manga? Would this be a good one or a bad adaptation? Only time will tell.
