Hayao Miyazaki’s Academy Award-winning Spirited Away is celebrating its 15th anniversary this week, and what better way to celebrate it than recreating it in Minecraft, right? Because that is exactly what Minecraft player, Alan Becker did.

In a video, the gamer explained that: “Extensive research was done to make the Japanese houses as accurate as possible, including watching many Japanese house tours on YouTube.” This is all part of his “Ghibli World” project, which not only features Spirited Away, but also other Ghibli classics like My Neighbor Totoro.

Becker has been working on the world for five years now, and it seems that the fruits of his labour are now showing themselves. He has recently put up a call for help building that Ghibli world. He plans to add other Ghibli classics into his already-massive world, like Howl’s Moving Castle, Kiki’s Delivery Service, and many others.
