Leaked images from the upcoming issue of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine has revealed a huge bombshell, as they will be announcing that Gintama is getting a live-action film adaptation. And no, mangaka Hideaki Sorachi ain’t trolling again.
The same issue also revealed that Lupin III actor, Shun Oguri, will be the one chosen to play the film’s lead, Gintoki Sakata. Will he be able to live up to fan’s expectation as he plays the silver-haired samurai with a natural perm? We may be finding out soon enough.
Not much information has been given about this live-action Gintama movie, but what we do know is that it will be making its premiere in 2017. More details will surely be revealed in the days to come, so stay tuned.
