Because Evangelion director, Hideaki Anno is co-directing the upcoming Godzilla: Resurgence film, the highly-anticipated kaijuu flick has had plenty of Evangelion-related collaborations. While the Evangelion crossovers are expected, it might come as a surprise that One Piece’s Luffy is joining in the fun with the mighty King of the Monsters.
The two are actually appearing together for the cover of the September 2016 edition of Entermix magazine, and if you look at the release dates of the two movies these two will be respectively appearing in, the partnership does make a bit of sense, as One Piece Film Gold will be premiering on 23rd July, whole Godzilla: Resurgence will premiere in Japan on 29th July.
We know that Luffy has faced plenty of gigantic sea monsters before, but they are nothing compared to the King itself. The magazine will be hitting the stands this 20th July, and will include a feature on both One Piece Film Gold and Godzilla: Resurgence. The magazine will also feature the full version of the One Piece x Godzilla crossover image.
