During Japan’s Sengoku period, a local warlord by the name of Sanada Yukimura dominated Wakayama. Now, Capcom has announced that they are allowing modern-day Wakayama Prefecture to use their version of Yukimura to promote their tourism industry.

011

The partnership is between Wakayama Prefecture, Capcom, and Japan Railway Company, which will be issuing special Sengoku Basara passes for passengers going on the Wakayama Line, the Kishigawa Line, or Wakayama buses. These will be in the form of 2-day passes worth 2,400 yen for adults and 1,200 yen for kids. They will be valid from 1st August until 3rd October 2016.

012

Tourist pamphlets featuring Sanada Yukimura will also be available. There will also be a stamp rally from 1st August until 2nd September.

002

In addition, several trains and taxis from the Nankai Electric Railway and Yutaka Transport Co. will also be featuring Sengoku Basara-themed cars and trains.

013

The partnership will also feature plenty of other merchandise, all of which feature Sengoku Basara characters promoting Wakayama Prefecture.
