The rest of the cast for the upcoming live-action film adaptation of Gintama have finally been revealed by the movie’s staff. These new additions will be joining the previously announced Shun Oguri, who was announced to play the lead role of Gintoki Sakata when the movie was announced inside the pages of Weekly Shounen Jump! Magazine.
Joining Shun Oguri in the film’s cast are:
Masaki Suda as Shinpachi Shimura
Kanna Hashimoto as Kagura
Masami Nagasawa as Tae Shimura
Masaki Okada as Kotaro Katsura
Tsuyoshi Muro as Gengai Hiraga
Yuuya Yagira as Toshiro Hijikata
Ryo Yoshizawa as Sougo Okita
Kankurou Nakamura VI as Isao Kondo
Fans might be familiar with Kanna Hashimoto in her previous action role as Izumi Hoshi in Sailor Suit and Machine Gun, while Masaki Suda previously played Karma Akabane in Assassination Classroom, where he starred alongside Hashimoto who also played Ritsu. And here we are still wondering what ELIZABETH might look like in the movie…
Yuuichi Fukuda, the director of the two live-action Hentai Kamen movies, will be at the helm of this project, and he will not only be the director, but the scriptwriter as well. The movie is slated to make its premiere in Japan sometime in 2017.
