Gintama’s Kagura has been quite known for her “projectile vomiting” in the anime and manga series. With the live-action Gintama movie coming up, actress Kanna Hashimoto had to look for inspiration on how to puke like Kagura. After some advice from co-star Masaki Suda (Shinpachi) and director Yuuichi Fukuda, she finally found her vomiting inspiration… Singapore’s very own Merlion!

In her tweet, Hashimoto said that she has now finished filming her puking scene, and it was the director and Shinpachi who advised her to “Puke like a Merlion.”
Fans might be familiar with Kanna Hashimoto in her previous action role as Izumi Hoshi in Sailor Suit and Machine Gun, while Masaki Suda previously played Karma Akabane in Assassination Classroom, where he starred alongside Hashimoto who also played Ritsu. They will be starring alongside Shun Oguri (Lupin III), who will be playing Gintoki. Yuuichi Fukuda, the director of the two live-action Hentai Kamen movies, will be at the helm of this project, and he will not only be the director, but also the scriptwriter The movie is slated to make its premiere in Japan sometime in 2017.
